Conversation on the lived realities of LGBTIQ+ refugees/ displaced persons in Eastern Africa

Conversation with Āryā Jeipea Karijo and Frank Fabian Kagimu on the lived realities of LGBTIQ+ refugees/displaced persons in Eastern Africa.
Āryā Jeipea Karijo is a narrative weaver, researcher, and journalist, and volunteers with the TransQueer Fund and Collective in Kenya and the Safe Haven Collective. Her support for queer organisations spans advisory, strategic, organisational design, and communications. She ultimately describes herself as a human being, understood through trans- and Afro-feminist lenses that shape her existence as a trans person and her way of loving as a lesbian.
Frank Fabian Kagimu is an Ugandan trans woman and feminist human-rights defender. She leads Prism Empowerment and Development Initiative Uganda, driving global advocacy and crisis-response efforts for internally displaced trans, gender-diverse, and LGBTQ+ persons in Uganda. Her work centers radical care, resilience, and community.

Die Veranstaltung wird aus Mitteln des Hessischen Aktionsplans für Akzeptanz und Vielfalt gefördert.
